The courage of the desert

There are many wars that are undeclared and often forgotten, one of these is the one fought in Morocco by the Saharawi people and the political-military organisation, the POLISARIO Front, little is known about this war although it has been raging for thirty years.
The Polisario Front has been fighting since 1975, when Spain was forced to abandon its colony and came to an agreement to divide the land between Morocco and Mauritania.
The majority of the Saharawi have lived in exile in the Algerian desert near Tindouf in situation of uncertainty for thirty years, those who remained in the cities occupied by Morocco live in a state of repression widely documented by Amnesty International.
The right to self-determination of the Saharawi people has been acknowledged by the UNO, OAU, the international Court of Justice at The Hague, the International People’s Court.
The referendum planned by the UNO resolution n° 690 of 1991 to be held under the control of the United Nations Mission on Western Sahara has not yet been held.
