   My photography choice

Daniele Gussago

Born in Brescia on the 28 May 1964, after having earned a degree in Information Sciences his interest turns increasingly to photography. He attends various workshops in Brescia and Milan. He has been a freelance photographer since 2002, having completed assignments in Kosovo, Thailand, Belarus, Romania and Pakistan. In Italy his assignments include the Soto Zen di Fudenji monastery in Salsomaggiore Terme, the realization of the Brescia Underground and daily life in some small mountain villages.
He works with show business photography as well as assignment photography, in particular contemporary dance and theatre, thanks also to the collaboration with the Compagnia Lyria contemporary dance company of Brescia.
For many years he has been cultivating a great passion for Fine Art photography.
With the Zonal System defined by Ansel Adams, it is possible to take black and white photographs using a medium-sized and large film, characterised by rich tone that cannot be surpassed at the moment. With this technique he has tackled classical subject matter in photography, such as landscapes, architecture and still life.
His assignment photography has been shown in various exhibitions and has been published at a national and international level.
Some photographs from his assignments in Pakistan have been presented at the launch of the initiative "Decent work, decent life" at the Bruxelles headquarters of the European Parliament. He is currently working on a book on the hunting areas in the province of Brescia and another book presenting his work done in Pakistan on behalf of the Italian Non Governmental Organisation ISCOS-CISL.
He has worked with NGOs such as “Terre des Hommes Italia” (Thailand) and UN Volunteers (Kosovo)..
